Volunteer

Seeking leaders at every level

We are seeking volunteers to assist with our events, to lead Young Women LEAD Clubs, to serve as speakers and more.

“You don’t need to direct a big group of people to have initiative and be a leader.” – Maria, 11th grader, shares her key takeaway from Young Women LEAD

We love our volunteers!

Young Women LEAD is grateful for our faithful supporters. Thanks to you, we’re able to build confidence in girls in grades 9 through 12 and encourage them to explore the careers their hearts’ desire.

Special shout outs to:

  • Teachers, administrators and guidance counselors who introduce girls to Young Women LEAD!
  • Parents who grasp the impact we’re making on their daughters’ lives and sign those permission slips!
  • Volunteers who tout our events via social media, in schools, with sponsors — and then roll up their sleeves to make the events happen!
  • Young professional women of SOAR whose vision and dedication brought — and continues to bring — Young Women LEAD to life!

Sponsors, Founding 50 members and donors whose commitment to developing strong girls and investments make it possible for us to provide the free programming to all girls!

Where we need volunteers the most

Our most pressing volunteer needs:

  • YWL Club Advisers: In 2023-2024, Young Women LEAD is offering YWL Clubs to high school serving girls in grades 9-12. We need educators, guidance counselors and administrators to serve as advisers and to work with girls to launch the Clubs.
  • Sorority site: Career pathways, philanthropy, resiliency … morsels/pebbles
  • Social Media Champions: Use your social media networks to spread the news about Young Women LEAD. It’s easy – and you can do it at any time. Invite your friends to follow us and re-post our messages. You can share our messages on any – or all of – our social media channels as often as you like!

Is your employer an advocate for giving back in the community? If so, please check with human resources to find out what volunteer benefits are available to you.

Many organizations offer employees time off each year to volunteer for their favorite nonprofits. Others will provide financial donations to organizations where their employees regular give of their time and talents.

If these benefits are available to you, we ask that you please keep Young Women LEAD in mind so that we may further our mission nationally.
