Jasper Conference Information

Presented by SOAR, the Young Women LEAD Conference is open to high school girls in Jasper and the surrounding counties. The one-day conference is free to all who and registration is limited.

2020 Keynote Speaker, Adrienne Bulinski

Adrienne is an award-winning motivational speaker, entertainer, and the author of “Blood Sweat & Tiaras”. While she calls Colorado home, she travels to various corners of our country on a mission to positively impact people’s lives by instilling in them the tools to persevere with grit. She teaches that with the right mind-set, proper amount of determination and stubbornness, even life’s worst days can be overcome.

Her messages and writings are influenced by a vast array of experiences including competing for Miss America as Miss Kansas 2005, performing with the USO Show Troupe, living and performing in New York City, re-learning how to walk at the age of 24, developing her mountain biking skills, receiving a full ankle replacement at 30 and the list goes on.

Adrienne holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communications as well as a Minor in Theatre from the University of Kansas. She is the owner and founder of Be Known, a boutique speaker and marketing bureau based out of Arvada, Colorado.

Adrienne lives in Arvada with her husband. In their spare time, they enjoy ski biking, mountain biking, reading, working in the woodshop, and cooking. Adrienne is currently working on her second book.

2020 Emcee, Shelby Coates

Shelby Coates anchors 41NBC News at 5, 5:30, 6 and 11. She returns to 41NBC after working in Evansville, Indiana as the Morning/Noon Anchor and Executive Producer for WEVV. Shelby also spent time in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where she spent three years anchoring and producing the weekend morning newscasts at WSPA-TV. She also worked as a general assignment reporter, receiving several honors for her investigative and consumer reporting. Shelby has spent time working as a news anchor/reporter in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Macon, Georgia; and Abilene, Texas. Shelby is a native of Clarksville, Tennessee. She graduated from Abilene Christian University in Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in sociology. Shelby has a passion for empowering local communities, church ministry, public speaking, strengthening women and mentoring young people.
