Earth Day has been celebrated on April 22 for the past 51 years by billions of people around the world to promote awareness for the health of our environment. This year’s theme is Invest in Our Planet. What Will You Do?
How can you celebrate Earth Day?
- The Great Global Cleanup is a campaign to remove pieces of trash from neighborhoods, beaches, rivers, lakes, trails, and parks — reducing waste and plastic pollution, improving habitats, and preventing harm to wildlife and humans.
- Sustainable Fashion – Sustainable Fashion refers to a clothing supply chain that is ecologically and socially responsible. Now is the opportunity to shift the industry and consumers away from the fast fashion model and toward sustainable practices in sourcing, production, distribution, marketing, and consumption.
- Test Your Knowledge with quizzes from Earth Day.
- Pick up trash. Plant trees. Organize a community cleanup. Contact your representatives. Compost. Take photos of pollinators. Use a reusable water bottle. Turn off lights when not in use.
