The YWL conference is for high school freshman (9th grade) girls who attend Danbury, Genoa, Oak Harbor, Port Clinton, Put-In-Bay, and Woodmore High Schools in the Ottawa, Ohio area and focuses on Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD).

The conference features interactive keynote sessions, community and business leaders, and more. The conference is FREE to all participants. YWL teaches important skills needed to be successful in the workforce and ways to develop confidence and leadership potential. This year’s conference will feature emcee Jaclyn Zajac, lead singer of Miss Kitty and the Litter along with  keynote presenter Julie Carrier. Julie has been recognized as the #1 Global Coach for Young Women and is the trusted authority on leadership development and confidence for girls and young women worldwide. Julie Carrier is leading a movement to “empower those who empower girls and empower girls to empower each other.”

In addition, attendees will learn from Ohio’s Second Lady, Tina Husted. Mrs. Husted demonstrates daily how women can and do take on many roles – personal coach, real estate broker, artist, arts supporter, wife, mother and more. According to Husted, art, in all of its forms, “Makes us dig deeper inside of ourselves. It allows us to go to a new place or new level we may have never have been.”

All attendees will have the opportunity to send a postcard to space with Blue Origin’s Club for the Future. Each attendee will receive a postcard that Club for the Future will launch into space and back on a New Shepard rocket and return to you stamped “Flown to Space.”

  • We encourage students to register themselves individually.
  • Chaperones please register yourselves as well.
• Registration is first-come, first-served and limited. Once we reach capacity we must close registration and will not be able to add additional registrants.
• The conference is limited to freshmen girls who attend Danbury, Genoa, Oak Harbor, Port Clinton, Put-In-Bay, and Woodmore High Schools in the Ottawa, Ohio area.
• Lunch will be provided and the cost is FREE
