Young Women LEAD Conference at Northern Kentucky University
10/17 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
Young Women LEAD invites high school girls to attend this year’s in-person Young Women LEAD Conference hosted at Northern Kentucky University.
The YWL conference is for Greater Cincinnati and northern Kentucky high school girls and focuses on Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD). The all-day conference features interactive breakout sessions, keynote speakers and lunch. The conference is free to all participants, and more than 800 students are expected to attend.
“This is our twelfth year for the conference, and each year we are empowering more high school girls to embrace their strengths and to reach their full potential,” said Dr. Kimberly Code, NKU’s Gifted and Talented Education professor and YWL Executive Director. “This year, our keynote speaker will talk with them about making positive connections and being bold in their communities. These young ladies will then attend breakout sessions with local female business and community leaders who have experienced the same issues they are currently facing.”
After the keynote address, students can choose between eight interactive discussion panels and breakout sessions. The sessions teach important skills needed to be successful in the workforce and ways to develop their leadership potential.
