Sophomore and Junior Girls Are Invited to Attend This Year’s Young Women LEAD Illinois

The YWL conference is for high school girls and focuses on Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD). The conference features interactive keynotes, interactive breakout sessions, community and business leaders, and more. The conference is FREE to all participants. YWL teaches important skills needed to be successful in the workforce and ways to develop confidence and leadership potential.

Students at this year’s conference will Reach for the Stars with keynote presenter Jen Bricker-Bauer. Born without legs, one would think Jen Bricker would be destined for a life of hardship. However, the hand of destiny brought her an amazing adoptive family, who gave her one simple rule, “Never say can’t” and helped her forge a life of triumph, not tragedy. As a child, Jen was obsessed with gymnastics, and her idol was Olympic gold-medalist Dominique Moceanu. Seemingly against all odds, Jen went on to compete against able-bodied athletes, and became a State Champion in power tumbling—only later to discover Moceanu was actually her biological sister. Portions of Jen’s incredible story have been featured on numerous news shows, including HBO Real Sports, ABC 20/20, and Good Morning America and in over 100 countries worldwide. She travelled internationally with Britney Spears’ World Tour, and appeared as the headliner at the prestigious Palazzo hotel in Las Vegas, New York’s Lincoln Center, and the Shangri La Hotel in Dubai.

Registration:

• Registration is available here.
• Registration is first-come, first-served and limited. We encourage students to register themselves individually so they may select their breakout session choices.
• Chaperones please register as well. We will use your registration contact information to communicate with you regarding the schedule and student rosters.
• Lunch will be provided and the cost is FREE.
• All attendees must have a Signed Waiver Form to attend the event. No one will be permitted to attend the event without a signed waiver.
